Krasnogvardeyskoye is a rural settlement in the northwest of Stavropol Krai in southern Russia and serves as the centre of its district. The land around it is part of the steppe north of the Caucasus foothills, and from above it is dominated by big rectangular fields and long straight roads.
The settlement follows the pattern of many villages in the region. Streets run in long parallel lines, with houses set on deep plots that stretch back into gardens.
