Kurume Map Poster & Print
Kurume lies on the Chikugo Plain in southern Fukuoka Prefecture, the largest plain on Kyushu. The Chikugo River, the island's longest, sweeps past the northern and western sides of the city in wide bends, its floodplain showing as a pale band of fields and embankments. The centre sits just south of the river, with streets arranged around two railway stations.
East of the centre the plain meets the Minō Mountains, and Mount Kōra, with its long-established shrine, forms the first high ground. From above, this gives the map a clear division: a flat, even pattern of neighbourhoods and farmland to the west, and a darker, forested edge to the east, where roads begin to curve with the contours of the slope.
Kurume grew as a castle town and later became an industrial centre; the tyre maker Bridgestone was founded here in the early 1930s. The city is also known for its azaleas and as one of the places where rich pork-bone ramen took shape. A Kurume map poster brings the river bends and the eastern ridge together in one balanced frame.

Mount Kōra ridge
To the east, the forested slopes of Mount Kōra mark the edge of the plain. Winding roads and the grounds of the shrine contrast with the regular streets below.
Castle town core
The site of Kurume Castle stands beside the river, and the older streets near it keep the compact layout of a former castle town, distinct from the larger blocks built later.

Kurume is a natural choice for people from Chikugo, for families connected to the city's industries, or for anyone who remembers its river and its hills. The contrast between flat plain and wooded ridge gives the print depth even in a simple black and white rendering.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a name, a date or a neighbourhood, and edit the coordinates line if you wish. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9.
