Pond grid
Dozens of rectangular ponds are spread between streets and homes, creating a repeated pattern that gives the map its strongest visual signature.

Maijdi Map Poster & Print
Maijdi is the administrative centre of Noakhali district in southeastern Bangladesh, on the flat, water-laced land near the Meghna estuary and the Bay of Bengal. On a map the town is broken up by water. Rectangular ponds, many of them dug by hand, sit between the streets, and small canals and drainage channels cut across the grid in straight lines.
The town took over its role when the old district seat, Sudharam, was lost to river erosion in the mid-twentieth century. As a result, Maijdi has an unusually ordered core for the region, with government buildings, a large central pond and planned roads, surrounded by the looser pattern of villages and paddy fields typical of the delta.
A Maijdi map poster turns this lowland geometry into a clean graphic. The dark rectangles of ponds repeat across the frame, roads follow raised embankments, and the town's edge dissolves into fields and settlements. It is a portrait of a place that exists because its people moved inland, away from the water, and rebuilt.

Planned civic core
Government offices and wide roads around a central water body mark the relocated district seat, more orderly than the surrounding rural lanes.
Delta embankments
Roads follow raised lines through low land and canals, tracing how movement in the region is shaped by water and flooding.

Maijdi matters to Noakhali families at home and abroad. A map of its ponds and roads can bring back a childhood neighbourhood, a school route or a family house, and it serves as a thoughtful gift for someone living far from Bangladesh.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a village. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint makes the water shapes especially crisp.
