Pripyat River
The river runs along the city's edge with a wide, marshy floodplain opposite, giving the map a large open area on one side.

Mazyr Map Poster & Print
Mazyr sits on the right bank of the Pripyat River in southern Belarus, and from above it looks unlike most cities in the country. Instead of lying on open lowland, it is built across a band of hills and ravines that rise above the river. Streets follow the slopes and gullies, and larger residential districts spread across the higher ground away from the water.
The city is one of the oldest in Belarus, with a history going back to the twelfth century. Today it is an important industrial centre and home to one of the country's two major oil refineries. Its steep terrain also supports a ski slope, something rarely found in the region.
A Mazyr map poster captures that combination: a wide river on one side, broken terrain in the older districts and more regular blocks further inland. The Pripyat's floodplain leaves a broad open area along the edge of the map.

Ravines and hills
The older districts sit on rugged ground, so streets curve around gullies instead of following a straight grid.
Upland districts
Away from the river, newer residential areas form more regular blocks on higher, flatter ground.
