Mundgod Map Poster & Print
Mundgod is a town in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, on the eastern side of the Western Ghats where forest gives way to farmland. On a map the town itself is small and compact, with roads spreading into a landscape of fields, woodland and water tanks that store monsoon rain.
The area is best known for the Doeguling Tibetan Settlement, established in the 1960s for Tibetan refugees. Its numbered camps, laid out across the countryside south of the town, are visible on the map as separate clusters of streets. The settlement is home to major monasteries, including Drepung and Gaden, re-established here after their founding institutions in Tibet.
A Mundgod map poster shows this unusual pattern: a Karnataka market town, a scatter of Tibetan camps with their monastic complexes, and the green, open country around them. It suits both people from the town and the many monks, students and visitors who have spent time in the settlement.

Monastic complexes
Large monasteries, including Drepung and Gaden, form substantial blocks of buildings and courtyards within the settlement area.
Forest and tanks
Woodland, fields and water tanks surround the town, giving the map irregular, organic shapes between the roads.

Mundgod holds a special place for Tibetan families, for monks and students who studied here, and for people of Uttara Kannada. The combination of town and settlement makes a map with a clear story.
