Medieval citadel
The historic centre grew around a fortified church complex, whose rounded outline still shapes the streets at the heart of town.

Orăştie Map Poster & Print
Orăştie lies in Hunedoara County, Romania, on the edge of the Mureș valley, with the Orăștie Mountains rising to the south. The historic centre gathers around a medieval citadel with its churches, and streets radiate from it into a compact old town. Beyond that, a looser grid of houses and gardens spreads across the flat valley floor.
The town holds a notable place in Romanian culture. The Palia de la Orăștie, printed here in 1582, is one of the earliest translations of parts of the Old Testament into Romanian. The nearby mountains hold the Dacian fortresses of the Orăștie Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
An Orăştie map poster shows a Transylvanian town in miniature: a tight historic core, the rounded outline of its old fortifications and the valley land spreading out around it. The map is compact yet detailed, and its layout is rewarding to trace.

Orăștie matters to Romanians with family roots in Transylvania and to anyone who has explored the Dacian fortresses. The map is a thoughtful piece of history for a study or reading room.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper gives the medieval core an old-map warmth.
