Osa Map Poster & Print
Osa is one of the older towns of Perm Krai, set on the Kama River where it broadens into the Votkinsk Reservoir. The shoreline dominates the map: a long, irregular edge of water along one side of the frame, with the town rising from the riverbank in a network of streets that follows the lie of the land rather than a strict plan.
The older part of town, closest to the water, has a denser street pattern of low houses, while later districts extend inland in more regular blocks. In the eighteenth century Osa was drawn into Pugachev's rebellion, when the rebel army captured it in 1774, an episode that remains part of local memory.
