Oxford is in Calhoun County in northeast Alabama, next to Anniston and along Interstate 20 between Birmingham and Atlanta. Its location on the interstate has shaped much of its growth, and the areas around its exits have developed into a regional shopping hub. Beyond those corridors, the city has older streets, residential areas and the green valleys of local creeks.
