Weleri is a town in Kendal Regency, Central Java, on the flat plain near the Java Sea. On the map it takes the shape of a settlement that grew along a main road: the busiest streets follow the route across the island's north coast, and smaller lanes branch off into villages and fields.
The surrounding land is mostly rice paddies and village clusters, with the hills of the interior rising to the south. This gives the area a layered look from above, with dense settlements along roads and waterways and open agricultural land between them.
