Dense historic core
The old centre is a close-packed mesh of short, irregular streets around the basilica of Sant Jaume, which reads as the darkest part of the print.

Algemesí Map Poster & Print
Algemesí sits in the Ribera Alta, south of Valencia, on the wide alluvial plain of the Júcar river. The land here is almost perfectly flat, and the town looks like a dense, rounded mass of streets set among farmland that stretches out on all sides.
The town's best-known tradition is the Festa de la Mare de Déu de la Salut, held each September. Its processions, dances and muixeranga human towers were added to UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2011. The streets of the historic centre act as the festival's stage.
An Algemesí map poster shows the meeting of town and field. At the centre, the old streets press close together around the basilica. Newer blocks form a looser ring around them, and beyond that the fine lines of rural tracks and irrigation ditches divide the orchards into long, narrow plots.

Orchard grid
Around the town, farm tracks and acequias cut the plain into long rectangular plots of citrus and vegetables, creating a fine linear texture at the edges of the map.
Railway edge
The railway line to Valencia runs past the town as a firm straight stroke, dividing the urban area from the fields.

People from Algemesí are often closely tied to their town and its September festival, even after moving away. A map of the streets where the processions pass makes a meaningful gift for anyone who grew up in the Ribera.
Add your own title, a subtitle such as a festival year, and a coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand bring out the orchard pattern well.
