The ancient tell
Near the centre, streets bend around the old settlement mound, a trace of thousands of years of habitation that gives the core its rounded, irregular shape.

I‘zāz Map Poster & Print
I‘zāz, often written Azaz, lies in the north of Aleppo governorate, a short distance from the border with Turkey. The surrounding country is fertile, gently undulating farmland, and the town sits in the middle of it as a dense cluster of streets. Main roads run south toward Aleppo and north toward the border crossing, giving the map a clear north–south axis.
At the heart of the town is an ancient tell, a mound built up over millennia of occupation, which a detailed map shows as a rounded knot where streets curve around rising ground. The place appears in medieval chronicles too: in 1125 the Battle of Azaz was fought nearby between Crusader forces and a Seljuk army.
An I‘zāz map poster presents the town as it is drawn today: an older core with irregular lanes, surrounded by later, more regular blocks and the fields beyond. In black and white, the layering of old and new is easy to read, and the open agricultural land frames the settlement with a calm margin.

Road to the border
A main road heads north toward the Turkish frontier, while another runs south to Aleppo, forming the strongest line through the town's street network.
Farmland all around
Olive groves and fields surround the town, so the map fades from dense lanes into wide open ground marked only by tracks and field edges.

Many families from I‘zāz now live far from it, and a map of the streets they know can be a meaningful thing to keep at home. It is personal without being loud, a precise record of the place rather than an image of any single moment.
