River and canal
The Lippe and the Wesel-Datteln Canal run side by side just south of the old town, one winding and one straight. Together they give the poster a distinctive double line.

Ang mapa
Dorsten Map Poster & Print
Dorsten lies on the northern edge of the Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia, where the industrial region meets the farmland of the Münsterland. Its map is organised around two parallel waterways, the Lippe River and the Wesel-Datteln Canal. They run close together through the town from east to west and separate the old centre from the districts to the south.
At the heart of the town is a compact, oval old centre whose outline still follows its former fortifications. The streets inside the oval are short and tightly packed, and a ring of roads surrounds them. A Dorsten map poster shows this medieval shape clearly, framed by the broad bands of river and canal just beyond it.
Dorsten was long a coal-mining town, and former colliery sites are still part of its landscape. It is also home to the Jewish Museum Westphalia. Separate districts spread around the centre across fields and woodland, so the map combines dense urban detail with the open green country that begins right at the edge of town.

Oval old town
The historic centre forms a small oval ringed by roads that trace its former walls. The outline is easy to read even at smaller print sizes.
Scattered districts
Separate districts sit around the centre with fields and woods between them, so a wider view shows a cluster of settlements, not one continuous city.

Bakit Dorsten
Isang mapang may kahulugan
People tend to describe Dorsten by its places: the market square, the canal path, the walk along the Lippe. A map of those lines makes a good gift for someone moving away or settling in.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates, adding a date or the name of a neighbourhood, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 HD download comes in six sizes, including 50×70 cm and A2.
