Ridge-top streets
The main roads follow the high ground, so the town's core stretches along the ridge instead of spreading evenly in every direction.

Ang mapa
Gīdolē Map Poster & Print
Gīdolē sits high in the hills of the South Ethiopia Regional State. From above it looks like a loose cluster of streets on elevated ground, laid out where the terrain allowed and not on a formal plan. The roads bend along the ridge, and the space between them fills with small plots, compounds and paths that thin out as the slopes drop away.
To the east the land falls toward the Rift Valley, the long rift that holds the lakes of southern Ethiopia. That drop gives the town its setting: an upland settlement looking over lower, open country. On a map the contrast shows as dense lines on the heights giving way to a few long roads heading down toward the valley floor.
A Gīdolē map poster turns that hillside pattern into a quiet study in line and space. There is no grid and no single dominant avenue, just the natural logic of a town built to suit its ground. In black and white the uneven street network reads almost like a contour drawing, and it rewards a slower look.

Descent to the Rift
Toward the east, a few long roads leave the settlement and run down toward the lower country of the Rift Valley, sketching the change in elevation.
Organic lanes
Between the main routes, footpaths and narrow lanes form an irregular mesh that shows how the town grew one plot at a time.

Bakit Gīdolē
Isang mapang may kahulugan
For people who grew up in Gīdolē or have family roots in these highlands, the map is a way to keep the shape of home in view. The unusual street pattern also works simply as a piece of graphic art on a wall.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a meaningful date, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
