Open lowland plain
The town sits on level ground, so the map shows a settlement spreading evenly in all directions, bounded by the long, regular outlines of farmland.

Ābderafī Map Poster & Print
Ābderafī lies in the western lowlands of the Amhara region, far below the highland plateau and not far from the border with Sudan. The land here is flat and warm, and the area is known for large-scale farming, especially sesame. On a map the town appears as a settlement on open plains, with little terrain to bend its streets or limit its growth.
That flatness shapes the plan. Streets run straighter than in highland towns, blocks are broad, and the edges of the settlement meet cultivated fields instead of hills. The harvest seasons bring many people to the surrounding farms, and the town serves as a market and service centre for the wider district. The map shows a place built for movement and trade.
An Ābderafī map poster records a town that few outsiders know by name but that matters a great deal to those connected with it. In a clean monochrome print, the straight streets and wide surrounding land become an image of space and horizon. It suits a calm wall in a home or an office.

Straighter streets
With no steep slopes to follow, streets run more directly than in the highlands. The centre has a looser, more rectilinear pattern.
Farm country beyond
Past the edge of town, the map opens into large fields, part of the farming belt of north-western Ethiopia known for its sesame harvests.
