Aliayabiagba Map Poster & Print
Aliayabiagba is a locality within the Lagos metropolis, Nigeria's largest urban area and one of the biggest cities in Africa. It lies on the mainland side of the city, where residential streets are closely packed and neighbourhoods run into one another with few visible boundaries. On the map, the result is a fine, intricate mesh of lanes rather than a tidy grid.
Water organises Lagos as a whole. Lagoons, creeks and canals thread through the metropolis, and the city's main harbours and islands lie not far to the east. These waterways, along with the expressways that cross the mainland, form the strongest lines on any map of the area and frame dense districts like this one.
Like many Lagos neighbourhoods, Aliayabiagba has no sharp outline on the map; the pattern of streets around it defines it. An Aliayabiagba map poster centres on this part of Lagos and shows it as residents know it: a close-knit web of streets inside one of the world's great urban regions.

Expressway lines
Major roads cross the mainland in long, bold strokes. They contrast with the small local streets and connect the area to the rest of the metropolis.

Une carte qui a du sens
For people who grew up here or still have family in the area, a map of Aliayabiagba is a way to hold on to one specific corner of a huge city. It means something that general images of Lagos cannot, precisely because it is so local.
