Boyne River
The river runs past the town centre and through green space. Its soft, winding line breaks up an otherwise geometric street pattern.

Alliston Map Poster & Print
Alliston is the largest community in the town of New Tecumseth, in Simcoe County, north of Toronto. Its map centres on a small historic main street near the Boyne River, with older residential streets around it in a loose grid. Newer subdivisions extend outward in curving crescents. Beyond them the land opens into flat, neatly divided farmland.
Alliston is known as the birthplace of Sir Frederick Banting, co-discoverer of insulin. It is also home to a large Honda car plant on its outskirts, which has become one of the area's main employers. The surrounding fields are well suited to potatoes, and the town has long celebrated the crop with an annual festival.
An Alliston map poster shows each layer of a small Ontario town: the river winding past the older core, the regular blocks of the historic centre, the looping streets of recent growth and the long, straight concession roads of the countryside. It is an accurate portrait of how many Ontario towns have grown.

Historic main street
The older commercial core lies along a short main street. A grid of residential blocks around it reflects the town's nineteenth-century beginnings.
Concession roads
Straight rural roads divide the surrounding farmland into large rectangles. This survey pattern, typical of southern Ontario, frames the town cleanly.
