Aquidauana Map Poster & Print
Aquidauana sits on the river of the same name in Mato Grosso do Sul. Its neighbour, Anastácio, lies directly across the water. The two towns grew up facing each other, linked by bridges, and together they form one urban area split by the river's curve.
The city is often described as a gateway to the southern Pantanal, the vast seasonal wetland that stretches west from here. The railway that once crossed this region helped the town grow in the early twentieth century. Ranching remains central to the local economy, and the surrounding land shifts gradually from higher pasture to low, flood-prone ground.
An Aquidauana map poster centres on the river. Its bend divides the frame, the street grids on both banks almost mirror each other, and the bridges tie them together. Further out the lines thin into open country. On the western side, wetland shapes begin to appear, pointing toward the Pantanal beyond the edge of the print.

Twin-town bridges
Road and rail crossings link the two towns and show how closely their street grids are tied across the water.
Toward the Pantanal
West of town the land flattens and the watercourses multiply, the first sign of the great wetland that begins beyond the city.
