Castelo Branco highway
The multi-lane highway crosses the municipality in long, smooth curves. It is the strongest line on the map and a clear marker of the town’s link to São Paulo.

Araçariguama Map Poster & Print
Araçariguama lies a short drive west of the São Paulo metropolitan area, in a landscape of steep green hills. The Rodovia Castelo Branco, one of the state’s main highways heading inland, passes through the municipality. On a map, its broad, sweeping lanes contrast sharply with the small, winding streets of the town, and the two scales of road give the place its character from above.
The town holds a notable place in Brazilian history, because gold was found in the area in the late sixteenth century, among the earliest gold finds in colonial Brazil. The name comes from Tupi and refers to the araçari, a small toucan. Those old associations now sit alongside a modern role as a quieter neighbour to the large cities nearby.
An Araçariguama map poster shows a settlement shaped by relief. Roads follow the contours, and neighbourhoods are scattered across ridges instead of being laid out in a single grid. The highway cuts a confident line through it all. In black and white, the interplay between curved local streets and engineered road gives the print a sense of movement.

Contour-led streets
Local streets bend around hillsides and follow valleys, producing an organic, branching pattern that looks very different from a planned grid.
Scattered neighbourhoods
Housing clusters sit apart from one another on the hills, separated by green slopes, so the town appears as a constellation of pieces rather than one block.

Pourquoi Araçariguama
Une carte qui a du sens
It works for people who left São Paulo for greener surroundings, for families rooted in the town, and for anyone interested in the region’s early colonial story. The map records a place in the hills that many people only glimpse from the highway.
