Asprópyrgos Map Poster & Print
Asprópyrgos lies in West Attica, on the Thriasian plain between Athens and Elefsina. Its name means white tower. On a map the residential town is fairly compact, with a grid of streets and small squares. It is surrounded by a much larger area of industrial plants, warehouses and logistics centres that stretch across the plain toward the coast.
The area is one of the industrial centres of Greece. A major oil refinery sits nearby, and its round storage tanks make distinctive circles on a detailed map. Highways and rail lines cross the plain, connecting Athens with the Peloponnese and western Greece. To the north, the land rises toward Mount Parnitha, and the roads begin to wind.
An Asprópyrgos map poster reveals an unusual composition: the domestic scale of the town, the large geometric footprints of industry, and the long straight lines of motorways, all framed by hills and the Gulf of Elefsina. It suits those who live or work here and anyone who finds industrial landscapes beautiful on paper.
