Radiating roads
Several routes fan out from the centre across the hills toward the border and the coast. On the poster they give the town a clear, branching silhouette.

Atambua Map Poster & Print
Atambua is the main town of Belu Regency in East Nusa Tenggara, on the Indonesian half of the island of Timor. It lies inland, close to the land border with Timor-Leste. The terrain around it is hilly and seasonally dry, and the town's roads follow the ground rather than a planned grid.
From above, the centre is a knot of short, winding streets around the main junctions. Arterial roads leave in several directions, toward the border crossing, the south coast and other towns in western Timor. Houses and gardens thin out along these routes into dry farmland and scrub, so the settlement has a star-like outline rather than a solid block.
Atambua is also the seat of a Catholic diocese, which reflects the religious make-up of this part of Indonesia. An Atambua map poster presents a frontier town without making it dramatic. It shows the pattern of roads that tie a small regional centre to its neighbours on both sides of an international line.

Hillside streets
Local streets curve along slopes and ridges instead of forming a grid. In black and white this makes a relaxed, irregular pattern with plenty of line variety.
Open countryside
Beyond the built-up area the map quickly becomes quiet, with scattered tracks through dry uplands. The generous empty space around the town sharpens its outline.
