Narrow channel
A slim channel separates Ko Sire from Phuket Town, crossed by a short bridge. On the print it appears as a thin band of white between two coastlines.

Ban Ko Sire Map Poster & Print
Ban Ko Sire is on Ko Sire, a small island just east of Phuket Town, separated from the main island by a narrow tidal channel and connected to it by a short bridge. On a map, the island forms a rounded shape surrounded by shallow water, mangroves and mudflats, with a road that loops around much of its edge.
The island is best known as home to a long-established Urak Lawoi community, one of the sea peoples of the Andaman coast, whose village sits along the eastern shore. Inland, the land rises into a wooded hill, and a Buddhist shrine on the hilltop looks back toward Phuket Town. Most of the settlement stays close to the water.
A Ban Ko Sire map poster is really a portrait of an island. The coastline takes up most of the sheet, the channel draws a thin line of separation from Phuket, and the roads trace the island's perimeter. It is a quieter view of Phuket than the west-coast beaches, and that restraint suits the minimal style.

Island loop road
A road follows much of the island's edge, linking its villages and shoreline. It traces the outline of Ko Sire like a second, inner coast.
Mangrove shores
Mangroves and tidal flats soften the island's edges, especially facing the channel. They give the coastline a softer, uneven line than an open beach.

Pourquoi Ban Ko Sire
Une carte qui a du sens
For people who know Phuket beyond its resorts, or who have stayed on the east side near the old town, Ko Sire is a small and specific place. A map of it, an island seen as a single shape, makes a considered souvenir that is very different from a beach photograph.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps the dates of a stay, and choose from five styles. Blueprint and Sand suit island maps particularly well. Printed posters on matte paper ship from partners in more than 30 countries, and digital files cost $9.
