Banning Map Poster & Print
Banning lies in the San Gorgonio Pass in Riverside County, California, one of the major gateways between the Los Angeles basin and the Colorado Desert. To the north rise the San Bernardino Mountains, including San Gorgonio Mountain, and to the south the San Jacinto Mountains. The town fills the gap between them.
On a map, Interstate 10 and the railroad run east–west through the pass, with Banning's street grid laid out alongside them. The older centre follows a straightforward grid, and newer subdivisions spread onto the slopes with curving roads. Beyond the edge of town, washes and open desert terrain leave long, uneven marks on the land.
A Banning map poster shows a town defined by its position. The strong east–west lines of freeway and rail pass through it, the grid holds steady around them, and the empty hillsides at the top and bottom of the drawing hint at the peaks beyond. It is a clean, structured image of a pass town.

Freeway and rail
Interstate 10 and the railroad cross the town side by side, forming the strongest lines on the map and linking Banning to both coast and desert.
Desert washes
Dry washes cut across the land around the town in irregular, branching lines, a reminder of the occasional runoff from the surrounding mountains.
