Barrocas Map Poster & Print
Barrocas is a municipality in the interior of Bahia, in northeastern Brazil, in the dry country known as the sertão. The town is small and compact. On a map, a central cluster of streets and blocks sits at the meeting point of a few roads that lead out across open, sparsely settled land.
The landscape around it is characterised by caatinga scrub, pasture and small farms. From above it looks like a wide, soft field of irregular plots, dirt tracks and seasonal watercourses that fill only in the rainy months. Against this background the town's grid looks especially clear. It is a dense, contained shape with the countryside on every side.
A Barrocas map poster suits people from the town and its rural surroundings, including those who moved to Salvador, São Paulo or elsewhere in Brazil. It shows a modest place in a demanding landscape: a few streets, a central square and the roads that connect it with the rest of Bahia.

Radiating roads
A few main roads leave the town in different directions and link it with neighbouring municipalities across the Bahian interior.
Sertão countryside
Scrub, pasture and dry watercourses fill the rest of the frame, forming a light, irregular texture typical of northeastern Brazil's semi-arid zone.

Pourquoi Barrocas
Une carte qui a du sens
Many nordestinos have left their home towns for the big cities, but the sertão remains a strong part of who they are. A Barrocas map poster is a simple, calm way to keep that origin visible at home.
Personalise the title and subtitle, in Portuguese if you prefer, with a family name or a date, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the dry interior well.
