Bayburt Map Poster & Print
Bayburt is the capital of the province of the same name in northeastern Turkey, set at high altitude on the upper course of the Çoruh River. The river runs through the town, and the built-up area stretches along its valley between hills. Above the centre stands Bayburt Castle, a large fortress on a rocky outcrop whose walls have overlooked the valley for centuries.
The town has long been a stop on routes linking the Black Sea coast with eastern Anatolia, including the historic road between Trabzon and Erzurum. Bayburt is also closely associated with the Dede Korkut tradition, the epic stories of the Oghuz Turks, which the town celebrates with an annual festival. Its landscape is open and mostly treeless, giving the valley a spare, clear form.
A Bayburt map poster traces the river through the heart of town, the streets packed along both banks and the castle hill rising above them. The simplicity of the setting suits black-and-white line work well: a single strong channel of water, a compact town and bare slopes around it, drawn with the clarity of an old survey map.

Bayburt Castle
The fortress on its rocky hill rises just above the centre, a clear break in the street pattern where the built-up area gives way to the castle's outline.
Valley-bound streets
Hemmed in by the surrounding slopes, the town stretches along the river valley, producing an elongated plan that looks distinctive framed on a vertical poster.
