Fortified old core
The historic centre around the fort forms the densest part of the map, with short, irregular lanes that show how the town grew close to its defended heart.

La carte
Begūn Map Poster & Print
Begūn lies in the Chittorgarh district of southern Rajasthan, on the broad upland of the Mewar region. From above, the town is a tight cluster of irregular lanes that loosen into farm tracks and scattered hamlets. Roads leave the centre in several directions, and the fine grain of the old core contrasts with the open agricultural land around it.
The town is associated with a historic fort that once served as the seat of a local estate under Mewar. On a map, the older quarter reads as a denser knot of streets close to the fortified area, while newer building follows the main roads outward. Seasonal streams and small reservoirs mark the surrounding plateau in thin, meandering lines.
A Begūn map poster keeps this contrast between the dense core and the quiet countryside. In black and white, the old lanes become a fine web and the approach roads become clear spokes. It is a modest subject, but a characterful one, especially for anyone with family roots or memories in this corner of Rajasthan.

Streams and tanks
Thin seasonal watercourses and small reservoirs dot the surrounding farmland, adding soft curves to an otherwise rectilinear agricultural landscape.

Pourquoi Begūn
Une carte qui a du sens
People hang a map of Begūn to keep a hometown close, often far from Rajasthan. The street pattern becomes a quiet reminder of family houses, markets and roads walked many times, reduced to a calm graphic that suits a living room or study.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or an important date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
