Javari River
The Javari runs along the town, forming the border with Peru and giving the map a wide, sweeping band of water that shapes the whole composition.

La carte
Benjamin Constant Map Poster & Print
Benjamin Constant lies in the far west of Amazonas state, on the Javari River near its meeting with the Solimões, as the Amazon is called in this part of Brazil. The town sits close to the triple border with Peru and Colombia, and from above it appears as a small cluster of streets on the riverbank, surrounded by forest and water.
It is named after Benjamin Constant Botelho de Magalhães, a Brazilian military officer and thinker associated with the founding of the republic. Like much of the region, the town depends on rivers for transport, and the waterfront is its natural front door, with boats connecting it to Tabatinga and other riverside communities.
A Benjamin Constant map poster is dominated by water. The broad curves of the rivers take up much of the frame, while the town's short grid of streets forms a compact block beside them. The contrast between dense streets and vast rivers and forest makes this a striking, unusual composition.

Compact riverside grid
The town's streets form a small, fairly regular grid on the riverbank, a dense patch of lines set against the open water and forest.
Triple border setting
Brazil, Peru and Colombia meet nearby, and the poster can place Benjamin Constant within this remote junction of rivers and nations.
