Boquira Map Poster & Print
Boquira lies in the interior of Bahia, on the western side of the upland country that runs through the centre of the state. The climate is semi-arid, and the land around town is rough and hilly, crossed by dry watercourses and unpaved tracks. On the map the town appears as a compact grid set against uneven, sparsely built terrain.
Boquira is best known for mining. For several decades in the second half of the twentieth century, lead was extracted here from one of the largest deposits of its kind in Brazil, and the town grew around that work. The mine closed in the early 1990s, but its legacy is still part of local identity and of the landscape at the edge of town.
A Boquira map poster shows a town shaped by its setting. The regular streets of the centre give way to looser, hillside development, and the broken ground beyond fills the outer frame with irregular lines. It makes a characterful print for people who grew up here or have family connected to the mining years.

Compact centre
The core of the town is laid out in regular blocks. This neat pattern contrasts with the scattered tracks and irregular ground immediately beyond.
Upland terrain
Hills and dry valleys surround the town. Their winding tracks and seasonal streams give the edges of the map a rugged, hand-drawn quality.
