Old town lanes
In the centre, narrow streets twist between houses and shops without a regular plan. They create the most intricate texture on the map and reward a close look.

Brahmapur Map Poster & Print
Brahmapur, also written Berhampur, is one of the main cities of southern Odisha, and its map shows a tight web of streets rather than a formal grid. Old commercial lanes wind through the centre and open onto small squares and temple grounds. Newer roads push outward toward the university, the railway and the highway that follows India's east coast.
Brahmapur is called the Silk City for its long tradition of silk weaving, and Berhampuri silk saris are still woven in its older neighbourhoods. It is also an important centre for education and trade in the region. The Thakurani temple in the old town is the focus of one of the city's best-known local festivals.
The sea is close. Gopalpur, a small town on the Bay of Bengal with a long beach, is a short drive away, across low, cultivated land. A Brahmapur map poster shows the density of the old town, the newer districts spreading around it and the open country between the city and the coast.

The railway
The railway runs past the city in a long, confident line. It is a straight contrast to the irregular streets and part of the main route along India's east coast.
Road to the coast
Roads leading toward Gopalpur run through fields and villages, connecting the dense city with the open shoreline of the Bay of Bengal.

Pourquoi Brahmapur
Une carte qui a du sens
For people from Brahmapur, a map of the old lanes and familiar neighbourhoods keeps home close, especially for families who now live far away. Put the city's name in the title, add a subtitle in your own words and include a date that matters.
The five styles, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, suit different rooms. Paper and Sand add a warm tone that fits a silk city. Download the HD files for $9, or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
