Port and breakwaters
The harbour's protective arms and quays are the most geometric shapes on the coast, a sharp contrast with the soft curve of the surrounding shoreline.

La carte
Buchanan Map Poster & Print
Buchanan is the capital of Grand Bassa County and one of the larger cities on Liberia's coast, lying south-east of Monrovia along the Atlantic. From above, the town stretches along the shoreline. A straight edge of beach and surf runs on one side, and a looser pattern of streets, compounds and green ground extends inland.
The port defines its character. Iron ore mined in the Nimba region in the north travels to Buchanan for export on a railway of more than 250 kilometres. The line was first built in the 1960s and later restored. On the map the railway arrives as a single steady line and ends at breakwaters and quays that reach into the sea.
The mouth of the St. John River lies close to the town, adding lagoons, creeks and mangrove edges to the coastline. A Buchanan map poster brings sea, river and rail together in one composition that feels both practical and open. It is especially striking in the deep Blueprint or Noir styles.

Ore railway terminus
The line from the Nimba mines ends here. Its long, unbroken track gives the poster a strong stroke leading in from the interior.
Atlantic beachfront
A straight run of sandy coast frames the town's seaward side, giving the map a clean, open edge where the streets meet the ocean.

Pourquoi Buchanan
Une carte qui a du sens
Buchanan is a place people return to, whether they grew up near the port, worked on the railway or spent weekends on its beaches. A map of the town is a restrained way to keep that coastline on the wall, far from the Atlantic.
Add your own title, a subtitle with a name or date, and a coordinates line if you wish. Then choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters are shipped from partners in more than 30 countries, with an optional wooden frame.
