Colonial-style grid
The centre follows a regular grid around a main square, as in many Chilean towns. It forms a compact, even pattern of blocks at the heart of the map.

Buin Map Poster & Print
Buin is in Maipo Province, south of Santiago, on the flat central valley floor of Chile. The Maipo River runs to the south, and the Andes rise to the east. On the map the town has a clear grid centred on its main square, typical of Chilean towns. Newer housing extends outward, and the surrounding land is a regular pattern of fields, orchards and vineyards.
Buin has long been a farming centre and belongs to the wine-growing area of the Maipo Valley. The Pan-American Highway, Ruta 5, passes the town, and a railway runs south from the capital. Buin keeps a small-town character, even as the edges of greater Santiago reach closer each year.
A Buin map poster shows a town that has grown steadily out of a traditional grid into the farmland around it. The main roads link it north toward Santiago and south toward the river, and field boundaries make a quiet background. It is a balanced map, with a clear centre and a lot of open space.

Route 5 corridor
The Pan-American Highway and the railway pass close by. They form long straight lines on the map that connect Buin to Santiago and the south.
Maipo farmland
Around the town, the flat valley is divided into fields, orchards and vineyards. The field boundaries make a fine, regular background to the streets.

Pourquoi Buin
Une carte qui a du sens
Buin suits people who grew up among the farms and vineyards of the Maipo Valley, or who moved there from the capital for a quieter life. A map of the town shows exactly where they belong.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates to mark a family home, a vineyard or a special date. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand and Paper suit the agricultural setting.
