Old city core
Near the centre, narrower and more irregular streets mark the older part of Būkān. On the map they form a denser texture that contrasts with the regular blocks of later expansion.

Būkān Map Poster & Print
Būkān lies in the south of West Azerbaijan province, in the Kurdish-speaking highlands between Lake Urmia and the Zagros ranges. From above, the city spreads across a wide valley floor, with a dense core of narrow streets giving way to newer neighbourhoods laid out in straighter lines. Farmland and orchards surround the built area, and low hills rise along its edges.
The city has grown quickly in recent decades and is one of the larger urban centres of Iranian Kurdistan, as well as an important place in Kurdish cultural life. The Simineh River and its tributaries water the surrounding land, which drains north across the plain toward Lake Urmia.
A Būkān map poster shows a city defined by its valley: the compact centre, the main roads leading toward Mahabad, Saqqez and Miandoab, and the patchwork of fields beyond. In black and white, the pattern of old lanes and newer blocks stands out clearly against the open land.

Regional roads
Main roads leave the city toward Mahabad, Saqqez and Miandoab, drawn as long lines across the valley. They reflect Būkān's role as a market town for the surrounding district.
Valley farmland
Fields and orchards surround the city, divided by irrigation channels and rural lanes. From above they create a fine, geometric pattern that frames the urban area.

Pourquoi Būkān
Une carte qui a du sens
For families from Būkān, including those now living in Tehran, Europe or elsewhere, a map of the city is a lasting link to home. Its compact form within a wide valley makes a clear, calm print that suits almost any room.
Add a personal title, subtitle and coordinates line, such as a family name or a neighbourhood, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand gives the valley landscape a soft, warm finish.
