La carte
Cabedelo Map Poster & Print
Cabedelo occupies the tip of a narrow peninsula in Paraíba, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the estuary of the Paraíba River on the other. On a map it is a long, thin city, stretched between two water edges, with a single main corridor running its length towards João Pessoa.
The port of Cabedelo serves the state capital, and the Fortaleza de Santa Catarina, a colonial fortress, guards the mouth of the river. On the estuary side, Praia do Jacaré is known for its sunsets, when Ravel's Boléro is played as the sun goes down over the water.
A Cabedelo map poster makes the most of this unusual shape. Two coastlines frame the city, the beach districts line up along the ocean, and the port and fortress sit at the northern point. It is a composition defined by water on both sides.

Northern tip and fort
At the end of the peninsula the port and the Fortaleza de Santa Catarina mark the entrance to the river, a compact cluster at the map's edge.
Estuary and mangroves
On the western side, the river estuary with its channels and mangrove areas forms a softer, more irregular edge than the ocean beaches.

Pourquoi Cabedelo
Une carte qui a du sens
Cabedelo is a place of beaches, sunsets and river crossings, and its map appeals to residents, people from João Pessoa and visitors who spent summers there. The peninsula shape is instantly recognisable on a wall.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a beach name or a holiday date, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint shows the two coastlines crisply; Sand evokes the beaches.
