Valley-floor streets
The central streets run along the flat ground beside the river, forming a narrow grid that bends with the valley. That long, curving core is the main shape of the print.

La carte
Cajati Map Poster & Print
Cajati lies in the Vale do Ribeira, the hilly and heavily forested south of São Paulo state. From above, the town follows the valley floor, with streets lined up along the river and main road, and neighbourhoods reaching into side hollows wherever the ground allows. Steep ridges close in around it, so the built area forms a narrow, winding shape.
The town is known for mining. A large phosphate deposit has been worked here for decades, supplying Brazil's fertiliser industry, and the mine and processing site form a distinctive area on the map. Beyond that, the Ribeira valley holds some of the largest remaining stretches of Atlantic Forest in the country.
A Cajati map poster shows that tension between the town's tight valley grid and the rough terrain around it. The river's curves, the road running beside it and the scattered neighbourhoods in the hollows make a map with more movement than its size would suggest.

Mining landscape
The phosphate mine and its works cover a large area near the town. Its benches and haul roads show up as geometric forms, clearly different from the residential blocks.
Atlantic Forest ridges
Wooded ridges surround the town and keep development in the hollows. On the map this becomes open space pressing in on the streets from all sides.

Pourquoi Cajati
Une carte qui a du sens
Cajati is a working town, and people who grew up here or worked at the mine know its valley by heart. A map of it is an honest, unfussy picture of that place, the kind that feels right in a home office or hallway.
