Candelaria Map Poster & Print
Candelaria lies on the east coast of Tenerife, south of Santa Cruz, and on a map its shape comes from the steep slope of the island. The land rises sharply from the Atlantic toward the central mountains. Streets climb it in zigzags and switchbacks, and the built-up area stretches along the coast in a long, narrow band.
At the shoreline, the old centre gathers around a large plaza on the sea. Here stands the Basilica of Our Lady of Candelaria, the patron saint of the Canary Islands, which draws pilgrims from across the archipelago, especially in August and February. On the seaward edge of the plaza, large statues of the Guanche kings, the menceyes, face the ocean.
A Candelaria map poster sets the town between the ocean and the mountain, with the coastline as a sharp edge and the switchback roads as a graphic pattern above it. Along the shore, further coastal neighbourhoods and small beaches extend the town north and south.

Switchback streets
Roads climb the steep slopes in tight zigzags, drawing sharp, repeated angles that give the map a dynamic, almost sculptural pattern.
Atlantic coastline
The rocky shore runs along the whole town, with small beaches and coves marking the edge where the streets stop and the ocean begins.

Pourquoi Candelaria
Une carte qui a du sens
Candelaria suits pilgrims, islanders and visitors who remember the plaza, the basilica and the sea. The map combines the slope and the coast in a single, clear image.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a date of a visit or a family name. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the volcanic coast.
