Valley-floor centre
The heart of Carmo occupies the lower ground between hills, so the densest streets gather in a compact area and the edges follow the shape of the terrain.

La carte
Carmo Map Poster & Print
Carmo is a municipality in the interior of Rio de Janeiro state, close to the border with Minas Gerais and the valley of the Paraíba do Sul. It is far from the beaches and granite peaks most people associate with the state. Here the landscape is rolling and rural, and the town fits itself into the low ground between the hills.
From above, the centre of Carmo is a compact grouping of streets with a few longer roads leaving it along the valleys. Nothing about the plan feels imposed. Streets bend to follow slopes, and the built-up area thins quickly into pasture and wooded hillsides. It is a map of a working country town rather than a showpiece.
A Carmo map poster is a gift for people who know this quiet side of Rio de Janeiro state, perhaps from childhood visits, family farms or a hometown left behind for the city. Its simple, uneven street pattern looks warm in the Paper or Sand style.

Roads through the hills
Several roads leave town along valleys, curving with the landscape and linking Carmo with neighbouring municipalities and rural districts.
Rural surroundings
Around the town, the map opens onto pasture and patches of woodland, a quiet frame that makes the small urban core stand out clearly on the poster.

Pourquoi Carmo
Une carte qui a du sens
Carmo is the kind of place people carry with them after they leave. A map poster brings back its streets and hills without any need for photographs, and it sits easily in a living room or hallway.
You can change the title and subtitle, perhaps to a family name or the year you moved, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download or order a print.
