La carte
Chaohu Map Poster & Print
Chaohu stands at the eastern end of Chao Lake in Anhui province, one of the five largest freshwater lakes in China. Once a prefecture-level city, it is now a county-level city administered by Hefei. The urban area wraps around the lakeshore and the river through which the lake drains toward the Yangtze, and water dominates the western side of any map of it.
From above, the contrast is striking: a broad, empty expanse of lake to one side, a dense city on the other, and a river running out between them. Low hills appear around the edges of the urban area, and newer districts have spread along the lakefront, with embankments and waterside roads tracing the shore.
A Chaohu map poster works best when the lake is allowed to fill part of the frame, turning the composition into a meeting of open water and fine street detail. It is a calm, balanced image for anyone connected to Hefei and the lake country of central Anhui.

Lake outlet river
A river leaves the lake at the city, carrying its water toward the Yangtze and dividing the urban area with a clear, narrow line.
Lakefront expansion
Newer districts extend along the shore in larger blocks and broad avenues, contrasting with the tighter and older streets of the original town.

Pourquoi Chaohu
Une carte qui a du sens
Chaohu is a place people associate with the lake itself: the wind off the water, the long views from the embankment. A map with the lake in the frame suits anyone who grew up there, and anyone who has come to know it from Hefei.
The title and subtitle can be changed to your own words, with a date or a name, and the coordinates can point to a specific spot. Blueprint suits the water especially well, and the other four styles offer quieter or warmer alternatives.
