La carte
Chirchiq Map Poster & Print
Chirchiq lies northeast of Tashkent, in the valley of the river it is named after, where the plains begin to rise towards the western ranges of the Tian Shan. It was founded in the 1930s as an industrial town built around hydroelectric power and a large chemical plant, and its layout still reflects that planned origin.
From above, the town is organised on long, straight avenues and large blocks of Soviet-era apartment buildings, with industrial zones on the edges. Canals drawn off the river run through and around the town, supplying the hydroelectric stations and irrigation, and they add long, precise lines to the map.
A Chirchiq map poster shows a town between the flat farmland of the Tashkent oasis and the mountains to the northeast. The river runs in a broad channel alongside the town, and roads lead up towards the reservoirs and resorts in the hills. It is a clear, structured city to print.

Power canals
Canals taken from the river cross the area in long, straight lines, supplying hydroelectric stations and irrigation, and forming some of the map’s strongest geometry.
Soviet planning
Broad avenues and large apartment blocks laid out in the 1930s and later give the centre a regular, spacious pattern.

Pourquoi Chirchiq
Une carte qui a du sens
Chirchiq is a hometown for generations of workers and families, many of whom have since moved elsewhere. A map of its avenues, river and canals keeps a clear picture of the place they know.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a family name or a date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the town’s planned layout.
