Ialpug valley
The Ialpug runs past the town in a shallow valley. Its meandering line and the flat, open floodplain around it form the natural edge of the map.

La carte
Comrat Map Poster & Print
Comrat lies in southern Moldova, in the valley of the Ialpug river, surrounded by the rolling, open land of the Budjak steppe. From above, the town follows the valley's line. The river and its low meadows run along one side, and a network of wide, mostly straight streets fills the gently rising ground next to it.
The town is the capital of Gagauzia, the autonomous region of the Gagauz, a Turkic-speaking Orthodox Christian people. It is also home to a regional university. The plan is spacious. Long parallel streets are lined with single-storey houses and gardens, and a more compact centre holds the administrative buildings.
A Comrat map poster shows an orderly steppe town. Its structure is simple and legible, with a river on one edge, a grid of residential streets and open fields beyond. The generous spacing between streets gives the print a light, airy feel that suits the wide landscape of southern Moldova.

Long residential streets
Straight streets lined with houses and back gardens run in long parallel rows. From above they create a calm, regular texture across most of the town.
Steppe farmland
Around the town, vineyards and large fields cover the rolling land. Their rectangular plots continue the town's geometry out towards the horizon.

Pourquoi Comrat
Une carte qui a du sens
Comrat means a great deal to the Gagauz community, both at home and abroad. A map of the town is a quiet statement of origin, suitable for a study, a hallway, or a gift to someone who left the region for work or study.
The poster can carry your own title, a subtitle and the coordinates line. Pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy the HD digital files for $9 and print locally, or order a finished print on matte paper with a wooden frame.
