Correntina Map Poster & Print
Correntina lies in the far west of Bahia, in the cerrado, the vast savanna of central Brazil. The town is on a river that belongs to the basin of the São Francisco, and on the map the water is its defining line. The streets gather close to the river and spread out from the banks in a loose, irregular grid.
The region is known for its springs and clear rivers, which feed from the plateau to the west and flow across the cerrado. In recent decades the high plateau has become large-scale farmland. On a map, that shows up as vast rectangular fields, a strong contrast with the winding course of the river and the smaller scale of the town.
Correntina keeps the feel of an interior Brazilian town: a main square, low buildings and roads leading out to farms and villages. A Correntina map poster combines the river, the town's streets and the edges of the surrounding countryside in one clean composition. It works well for anyone from this part of Bahia or anyone who knows it.
