From above, the setting is defined by ridges and slopes rather than a grid: roads follow the contours of the land, looping around hillsides and descending into valleys, while settlements cluster along the more accessible ridgelines and gentler slopes.
The area is known for its green, pine-covered hills and cooler climate, which draw visitors from the plains in summer.
