Bazaar centre
The town's centre is a compact knot of streets and small blocks around the main market area. It is the densest part of an otherwise open map.

Digri Map Poster & Print
Digri is a town in Mirpur Khas district, on the lower Sindh plain in southeastern Pakistan. From above it appears as a compact cluster of streets around a central bazaar, set in a wide landscape of irrigated fields. Straight canals and watercourses run through the countryside around it. Roads link the town to Mirpur Khas and the surrounding villages.
The land here depends on water brought from the Indus through a large irrigation system, and farming shapes almost every part of local life. The town is a local centre for trade in crops from the surrounding fields, with markets, schools and services for a wide rural area. Beyond the canals, the plain continues towards the desert of Tharparkar.
A Digri map poster keeps things simple and honest. It shows the tight streets of the town, the straight lines of canals and roads, and the regular pattern of fields spreading out on all sides. In black and white it becomes a calm, geometric image of a Sindhi farming town, and a personal one for families with roots here.

Canals and watercourses
Irrigation canals cross the surrounding plain in long, straight lines and branch into smaller channels. These channels feed the fields around the town.
Field patterns
Farmland surrounds Digri in a patchwork of rectangular plots, giving the edges of the map the fine, even texture that is typical of lower Sindh.
