Ross Clark Circle
The ring road forms an almost complete loop around the city. It is the defining shape on the map and the frame that holds most of Dothan's streets.

La carte
Dothan Map Poster & Print
Dothan is the largest city in the Wiregrass region of southeast Alabama, and on a map its most recognisable feature is the Ross Clark Circle. This ring road loops around the city and holds most of the built-up area inside. Downtown sits near the middle on a compact grid, and major highways run out from it through the circle toward the farmland beyond.
The city calls itself the Peanut Capital of the World. Much of the United States' peanut crop is grown in the surrounding counties, and Dothan hosts the annual National Peanut Festival. Around town, peanut sculptures on the sidewalks are a local signature.
A Dothan map poster has a strong, clear structure. There is the loop of the circle, the radial highways and the small grid in the middle. Outside the ring, streets thin out quickly into fields. It is an easy map to recognise, and it prints beautifully at every size.

Radial highways
Major roads run out from downtown in several directions, cross the circle and continue across Wiregrass farmland toward Florida, Georgia and the rest of Alabama.
Downtown grid
At the centre, a small grid of older streets marks the historic downtown, which is noticeably tighter than the looser suburban pattern around it.
