El Bauga Map Poster & Print
El Bauga is in River Nile State in northern Sudan, on the banks of the Nile. The main feature of any map here is the river. It forms a broad band through the frame, and along each side runs a narrow strip of cultivated land. Beyond that strip, the ground opens into desert with almost no roads at all. The town lies inside the fertile strip, close to the water.
Settlements along this part of the Nile tend to stretch along the river rather than spread outward. El Bauga follows that pattern. Its streets and compounds are grouped near the banks, and irrigated plots fill the gaps between them. On a black-and-white map, the border between farmland and desert is very sharp.
An El Bauga map poster is mostly river, fields and empty ground. It is a stark composition, well suited to a minimalist style. It shows the oldest pattern of settlement in the region: people living along the water, with the desert beyond. The poster suits Sudanese families living abroad who want to keep a picture of home.

Cultivated strip
Narrow irrigated fields line the river, filled with small plots and tracks. The strip is thin, but it is where nearly all of the town's life and activity happens.
Desert margin
Past the farmland, the ground is almost empty on the map. That open space makes the settled riverbank stand out, which suits the pared-back poster styles.
