La carte
Futian Map Poster & Print
Futian lies in the mountainous northeast of the Chongqing municipality, in the wider region of the Three Gorges. The terrain here is steep and heavily folded, and from above the town is shaped by its valley setting, with streets running along the lower ground and roads twisting up and around the surrounding slopes.
Detailed information about Futian itself is limited, but the pattern is typical of towns in this part of China. Settlement follows rivers and road corridors, with terraced fields and small villages scattered on the hillsides and long stretches of forested or cultivated slopes between them.
A Futian map poster turns the landscape into a set of flowing lines. The narrow, elongated town centre sits along its valley, while switchback roads and winding tracks spread across the page, and the empty spaces between them stand in for the mountains that define this part of Chongqing.

Switchback roads
Roads climb the surrounding hills in tight curves and turns, creating distinctive looping lines that stand out against the open space of the slopes.
Hillside villages
Small clusters of buildings and tracks dot the surrounding slopes, adding scattered detail to the otherwise open mountain areas of the map.
