Castle at the centre
The Visconti-Sforza castle forms a broad rectangular block in the middle of town, and the surrounding streets bend around it, making it the clearest single landmark on the poster.

Galliate Map Poster & Print
Galliate sits on the flat farmland east of Novara, close to where Piedmont gives way to Lombardy across the Ticino. From above, the town reads as a dense, roughly rounded centre with streets pulling outward toward neighbouring villages. Around it lies a patchwork of fields and straight irrigation channels that is typical of this corner of the Po plain.
At the heart of the old town stands the Visconti-Sforza castle, a large square fortress with corner towers that still anchors the street pattern around it. The lanes nearby are narrow and slightly irregular, while later neighbourhoods follow a looser, more rectilinear layout. On a map the contrast between the tight historic core and the open grid around it is easy to follow.
To the east, the land drops toward the wooded banks of the Ticino, part of a protected river park shared with Lombardy. A Galliate map poster captures that sequence in one frame: the castle-centred town, the ribbon of roads and canals across the plain, and the softer, braided texture of the river corridor at the edge.

Ticino river corridor
East of town the Ticino marks the regional border with Lombardy. Its wooded banks and shifting channels, protected as a river park, give the map a looser, organic edge.
Canals and farmland
Straight irrigation channels and field boundaries cross the plain around Galliate, laying a quiet geometric pattern beneath the roads that link the town to Novara and nearby villages.

Pourquoi Galliate
Une carte qui a du sens
For people from Galliate, or anyone who has cycled the Ticino park or grown up in the Novara countryside, the map is a plain and honest portrait of home: a castle, a web of streets, a river at the edge. It suits a hallway or study without competing for attention.
You can set your own title and subtitle, perhaps a family name or a date that matters, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the $9 HD files in six sizes or order a printed poster.
