Central plaza
The main square sits at the heart of the grid, with the town's straight streets running out from it in four directions. It is the reference point for the whole plan.

Guamo Map Poster & Print
Guamo lies in the lowlands of Tolima, in the broad valley of the Magdalena River. The town is built on a regular grid of square blocks around a central plaza, the classic Spanish colonial layout found across Colombia. Beyond the last streets, the land opens into flat, irrigated farmland.
This part of Tolima is known for growing rice, and the fields around Guamo form a large part of the landscape. The Saldaña River, a tributary of the Magdalena, flows through the area. Its watercourses and the irrigation channels drawn from it add curving lines to an otherwise straight-edged map.
A Guamo map poster brings together two kinds of order: the chequerboard of the town and the rectangular plots of the rice country around it. Printed in black and white, the plaza at the centre gives the eye a place to start, and the grid spreads evenly outward from it.

Square blocks
Blocks of roughly equal size repeat across the town, giving the map a regular, woven texture that is typical of Colombian towns founded in the colonial period.
Rice country
Flat irrigated fields and channels surround the town. Their long straight edges and occasional river curves frame the compact urban grid.

Pourquoi Guamo
Une carte qui a du sens
A Guamo map is a fitting gift for anyone with roots in Tolima: the plaza they walked around, the streets of their childhood, and the plain beyond. The simple grid looks especially clean on a wall.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, in Spanish or any other language. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand bring out the warmth of the lowlands.
