Streets cross at regular right angles across the town, producing a rhythmic pattern of blocks that looks especially crisp in a minimalist black and white drawing.

Guararapes Map Poster & Print
Guararapes lies in the north-west of São Paulo state, in the Araçatuba region, where the land is broad, gently undulating and given over largely to sugarcane and pasture. Like many towns in this part of the state, it was laid out on a regular plan, and from above its streets form an orderly chequerboard of near-square blocks with few interruptions.
The town grew with the railway that pushed west through the interior in the early twentieth century, and the line of the tracks still reads as a firm stroke on the map. The Marechal Rondon highway passes close by, a straight corridor linking the region with the rest of the state and giving the town a clear main axis for through traffic.
Beyond the last blocks, the map turns to wide agricultural parcels cut by farm roads and small streams. A Guararapes map poster captures that transition cleanly: the measured grid of a planned interior town, the transport lines that brought it into being and the open plateau stretching away on every side.

Highway corridor

Pourquoi Guararapes
Une carte qui a du sens
Towns built on a grid have a graphic appeal of their own, and Guararapes is a good example. For residents, and for those who moved on to São Paulo or further, the poster turns familiar blocks into an image that feels both personal and architectural.
Edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a name, a date or a short dedication. Five styles are available, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, so the same grid can look stark, soft or technical.
