Harrow Map Poster & Print
Harrow spreads across northwest London as a pattern of suburban streets, parades and railway lines, much of it built in the early twentieth century as the Metropolitan line opened up the area. On the map, curving residential roads fill the flat ground, broken up by parks, golf courses and playing fields.
In the middle rises Harrow on the Hill, a steep hill topped by the medieval church of St Mary's, whose spire can be seen for miles. On the slopes below lies Harrow School, founded in the sixteenth century, with its buildings and sports fields spreading across the hill.
A Harrow map poster shows the contrast between the old hilltop village and the planned suburbs around it. The winding roads of Harrow on the Hill, the green spaces of the school and the long lines of railway give the print variety, and the suburban streets fill the rest with a fine, even texture.

Harrow School grounds
The school's buildings and playing fields cover much of the hill. They form a large open area among the more densely built streets.
Metro-land railways
Railway and Underground lines cross the borough in long, straight paths. They show how the railway shaped the growth of the suburbs around them.

Pourquoi Harrow
Une carte qui a du sens
Harrow hangs in the homes of families who have lived in its suburbs for generations, as well as former pupils and people who moved there for work. The hill and the green spaces give the print a calm, balanced look.
