La carte
Hawthorne Map Poster & Print
Hawthorne lies in the South Bay of Los Angeles County, a few miles inland from the Pacific. From above, it is a dense and almost perfectly regular grid, typical of the Los Angeles basin. Hawthorne Boulevard runs north to south through the centre, and the 405 and 105 freeways cross the edges of the city.
The Hawthorne Municipal Airport, also known as Jack Northrop Field, takes up a long rectangle on the city's east side. Around it are large industrial buildings, including the headquarters and rocket factory of SpaceX. On a Hawthorne map poster the runway and big-box industrial footprints stand out clearly against the fine texture of the residential blocks.
Hawthorne's history is tied to aviation. Northrop built aircraft here from the 1930s, and the aerospace industry still shapes the city today. It is also known as the hometown of the Wilson brothers, who formed the Beach Boys with their cousin and a friend. Their childhood home site is marked by a California landmark.

Pourquoi Hawthorne
Une carte qui a du sens
Hawthorne means different things to different people: aerospace engineers, Beach Boys fans, families who have lived on its quiet grid for generations. A map of the city captures all of them in one clean, graphic print that suits an office as much as a home.
Personalise the title and subtitle, adding a street, a company milestone or a date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint fits the aerospace theme well.
