Henichesk Map Poster & Print
Henichesk stands on the northern shore of the Henichesk Strait, a narrow channel that connects the Sea of Azov with the shallow Sivash lagoon. Few towns have a setting that reads so clearly from above. Water lies on several sides, and the long, thin Arabat Spit starts just across the strait, running south for more than a hundred kilometres between the open sea and the lagoon.
The town's streets are laid out in a mostly regular pattern on the rising ground above the shore, with the port and waterfront on the strait. To the west the Sivash breaks into a maze of shallows, islands and salt flats that shows up on maps as a complicated, fractal coastline. The mix of sea, spit and lagoon has made the area known for summer holidays and for its mineral-rich waters.
A Henichesk map poster gives this meeting of land and water the space it needs. The street grid holds the centre, the strait draws a sharp line across the composition, and the start of the spit trails away towards the edge. In black and white the coastlines become the main subject, and the result is a map that feels almost like a nautical chart.

Pourquoi Henichesk
Une carte qui a du sens
For people who spent summers on the Azov coast or grew up by the strait, the outline of Henichesk carries a lot of memory. A map keeps the shape of the town, the water and the spit together in one quiet, lasting image.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to anything meaningful, such as a family name, a year or a line of your own. Five styles are available, and Blueprint and Noir suit the coastal setting especially well.
